Course Objective:

Spatial Planning and Design aims to developing an optimal adaptation between man, land, environment and nature. Concepts and theories of spatial planning, involve the design and use of our living environment and the social, economic, and ecological processes involved. Other related areas are also important, including landscape, infrastructure, geography, culture and policy. Spatial planning takes place on local, regional, national and international levels and often result in the creation of a spatial plans.

The goal of the course is to introduce spatial design principles and broad scale approaches to sustainable development. The students are taught how to identify and comprehend complex problems in spatial development while mapping and analysing them in a multi layered approach. The students will be able to identify suitable solution strategies and recommendations.
